While you’re checking out the spruced up Point Arena Lighthouse, grab some tickets to the “Eclectic Flavors on a Small Plate,” an afternoon of passionate eating to benefit the beacon.

This Saturday Sept. 25 the sophisticated House in the Country Fine Arts Gallery plays host to the annual fund-raiser, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Shannon Hughes, founder of Pangea and Lorca in Point Arena and a trailblazer in the Slow Food movement, will whip up bites of ahi poke, slow cooked braised beef short ribs and eggplant bruschetta.

Alice Chan, who brought her Tin’s Tea House cuisine from the East Bay to the coast, where she is now a caterer, will offer exotic mushroom and spinach dumplings and Shu Mai with pork and shrimp. Rocco Hanson of Oui Cook gourmet catering will serve heirloom tomato coulis with fresh goat cheese, paillard of king salmon and curried lamb. It all will be paired with ocal wines.

Tickets are $100 and are available at the House in the Country & Fine Arts Galleries, 24050 S. Highway 1, Point Arena. You can also call 877-725-4448 or visit  PointArenaLighthouse.com.
