Glen Ellen’s Gaige House has new owners who have partnered with the Monterey-based Four Sisters Inns to manage the luxury hotel.

A release issued by The Four Sisters on Friday did not disclose who purchased the 23-room boutique inn or how much they paid. The Gaige House was listed on the market for $8 million last fall after it was seized by lenders.

The four Sisters Inns owns or manages 15 upscale properties, all but one in California. Their Wine Country collection includes the Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza, The Inn at Sonoma, Maison Fleurie and Lavender in Yountville and the Blackbird Inn in downtown Napa.

Four Sisters President Shelley Post said in a statement that the historic little village of Glen Ellen, home to Jack London State Park, the Sonoma County Regional Park, a number of wineries and a string of fine restaurants, is a “very attractive destination for wine country visitors, and the Gaige House is a perfect base from which to explore the area.”

There are no immediate plans to change or remodel the inn, a unique mix of vintage and contemporary architecture, with an 1890 Queen Anne-Italianate main house and 13 separate spa suites with Japanese-inspired amenities like oversized granite soaking tubs and private gardens.

But Post said Four Sisters plans to upgrade service and begin offering full breakfasts as well as complementary hors d’oeuvres and beverages every afternoon, along with freshly-baked cookies, a signature amenity of Four Sisters Inns.

The Gaige House has long been one of the Sonoma Valley’s leading luxury hotels. For the last three years it made Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List of favorite hotels and resorts, sharing company in California with The Beverly Wilshire, San Francisco’s Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons and The Lodge at Pebble Beach as well as the local Kenwood Inn and Spa and The Hotel Healdsburg.

If you’re looking for an indulgent getaway Four Sisters is offering several introductory packages for June. Guests who stay mid-week will receive a $70 gift certificate for dinner at the Glen Ellen Inn restaurant. Room rates for the package range from $275 for a deluxe queen to $475 for a creekside suite.
