Healdsburg historic Honor Mansion is raking in the awards.
The latest kudos for the romantic inn with its trademark water tower is a 4-Diamond award from The American Automobile Association. This is the 16th year that the Honor Mansion, owned by Steve and Cathi Fowler, has received the prestigious award. This year fewer than 5 percent of 30,000 AAA approved lodgings recevied a 4 Diamond rating.
The inn, known for its indulgent breakfasts, resort-style amenities like bocce, tennis and basketball courts and indulgences like in-room and poolside massages, also placed highly in three categories in the 2013 TripAdvisor.com Traveler’s Choice Awards.
The Mansion was rated No. 5 in the U.S. for Top Romantic Hotels, No. 11 for Top Small Hotels and No. 17 for Top Luxury Hotels.
Fewer than 1 percent of 54,000 hotels received awards.
The exclusive Michelin Guide has included the Honor Manion for the past five years. Honor Mansions has also received two consecutive perfect evaulations from the discriminating Select Registry, the first and only Select Registry Inn out of 375 members, to do so.
When looking for a place to stay it can be a head-spinning, brain crushing experience sifting throught he avalanche of reviews online, some of which can be planted, pro or con.
But considering the sheer volume and diversity of awards for the Honor Mansion, from both professional travel organizations and visitors, the inn’s reputation seems rock solid.
Rooms start at $240 a night in the off season, making it a top value option for those looking for a luxurious getaway at a reasonable price.
